Project Process

Larsen Design/Build believes that knowing where you’re headed can help to make the project process work better, for the builder as well as the customer. Here’s how our process works:

Patio, Outdoor Pool, and Poolhouse Wooden Deck Pond and Waterfall

Choosing a Contractor

You’ve done your homework, you’ve gotten referrals from those whose completed projects you admire you’ve checked certifications and references, and you like what you hear during our initial telephone call. You decide that Larsen Design/Build is the right firm for your project.

Design Consultation

Our first meeting at your home is a vital one where we help you to define your goals and objectives and outline reasonable budget parameters for the project. We highly encourage you to collect photo examples (books, magazines, web sites) of your design style. Sometimes, straightforward projects with a simple scope of work won’t require a formalized design. In that case we will provide detailed cost estimates for specific work within your designated budget range. If a more formalized design is required, then we will provide you with a cost for the design work..

Design

Design is an ongoing process, often involving preliminary sketches and budget revisions before design finalization. Design work includes a detailed survey of your home and property including topographical information, drainage patterns, architectural and planting features, etc. Master plans with multiple elements (pool, landscaping, outbuilding, house redesign) can often be built in phases over successive years. Because our objective is your satisfaction, Larsen designs will reflect both your vision and meet your budget.

Construction

On design completion, we enter into a construction contract for the project, which outlines projected completion dates for the phases of construction, as well as payment schedules. Finishing the project to your specifications and satisfaction is our ultimate goal.
